“Incredible doesn’t even begin to describe it. I never thought someone like me, a “big girl,” deserved to have a boudoir photoshoot, much less look good, dare I say stunning, in lingerie and even nude. I fully expected to be struggling to pick enough photos for my photobook, which after seeing the photos, I could have ordered every single one. The photos started out for me, for “woman empowerment,” and so I could maybe, just maybe, see myself the way my husband does. The timing worked out that I was going to get my photos returned right around our 2 year wedding anniversary and thought it would be a perfect gift for my husband as well. It ended up being a better gift for myself. We keep the photobook on a shelf in our closet and I pull it out often to look through it and recall the experience and remember just how fierce and sexy I really am. I now have extra grace for myself.”

“I recently lost over 130 pounds. Before that, I never allowed my entire body to be photographed and would constantly crop out parts of myself to hide it. Now that I've lost weight, I have stretch marks, loose skin, and other changes. I talked to Emma about these concerns, and she reassured me that everything would be okay. During and after my photo session, those issues didn't matter anymore. I don't care about other people's opinions or views of me. I am beautiful, and I know it!
The photoshoot was truly incredible! The environment was so body-positive, and I had an absolute blast. Emma and Tamara are simply the best. The atmosphere was so uplifting that any insecurities about my body completely vanished. I was utterly amazed by Emma's artistry—and by her subject! I truly couldn’t believe it was me. “I think every woman struggles to accept her body as-is, bombarded as we are with societal expectations around what constitutes beauty. I’ve always understood intellectually that everyone is beautiful in their own way and comparison is the thief of joy, but it’s difficult to self-apply this understanding. It’s so easy to scrutinize our bodies since we’re closest to them! But I think the best thing about this shoot was how it helped me reframe my self-perception…looking at those images, I could truly see how others see me and regard myself as a work of art. Any flaws or imperfections I might have fixated on before were minor compared to the overall impact of those amazing shots!”

“Now that I’m turning 40 I really wanted to do something for myself to celebrate the milestone. Society is so harsh to women and especially women as they age. Being in this supportive, warm and celebratory environment at Vixen Society was amazing and the polar opposite of all that baggage from society. I felt GOOD and then GREAT and ELATED by the end. From beginning to end the shoot was so much fun and I felt like I was hanging with a girl friend who just happened to be EXTREMELY good at showing me how to pose and taking my photo. I was informed they only book one shoot a day so it was a relaxed pace that enabled me to relax too. The photos turned out phenomenal and I’m so glad I did this for myself. I am the third member of my family to see the ladies at The Vixen Society, and there is a reason we keep coming back. These women are not only professional, but real, kind people who know how you're feeling from the many years of experience they have. They put you right at ease and make you feel incredibly special at your shoot. The closet you get to choose your outfits from is a dream, and if you get overwhelmed by the choices they help with that also. Going into the experience, I thought sure this will be fun and cool. But it was much more than that, and the way they make you feel is worth every cent and hour you spend there.
